Inter Miami CF unveiled its inaugural Major League Soccer (MLS) away jersey, "The RosaNegra," on Wednesday night at the FORWARD25 jersey reveal event in New York City organized by MLS and adidas as part of the league’s 25th Season Celebration. Inter Miami U-14 Academy players Axel Perez and Fernando Sanchez revealed the Club’s first-ever jersey, alongside the other 25 clubs, emphasizing the Club’s pillar of youth development.
The Inter Miami CF inaugural away jersey, "The RosaNegra," is available for order now via the Inter Miami Instagram account (@InterMiamiCF) and on the Club online store at www.mlsstore.com/inter-miami-cf/.
Inter Miami CF’s inaugural MLS away jersey includes:
- Pink accent stripes over black as an ode to South Florida’s vibrant soul and this key milestone for both Inter Miami and MLS
- Embossed herons representing freedom and strength
- In recognition of fútbol arriving to South Florida, the inaugural 2020 season logo can be found in the bottom right hand corner making this a true collector’s item
- The Club mantra “Freedom to Dream” on the inside of the collar reflects the ambitious mindset of the Club as it aims to become the best fútbol club in the Western hemisphere
- The jersey font of the player's name and number is a dynamic, energetic and bold graphic typeface that introduces a layering tri-line effect. The font was designed in collaboration with MLS by Rick Banks, lead designer and typographer of Face37, an award-winning graphic design studio based in Manchester, England
Academy players Perez, 13, and Sanchez, 14, who were among the first players to ever defend the Club colors when the Academy first trained in June and officially debuted in a match in South Florida in September, represented Inter Miami CF at the jersey unveil event. The talented youngsters of Cuban American heritage embody the culture, charisma and bold mentality Inter Miami is building as it gets ready to make its worldwide debut in MLS.
Perez, a Miami-Dade born creative midfielder, is considered among the best 2007 players in the country for his technical ability and passion on the field. He scored a goal in the team’s first-ever game in South Florida. Perez also joined the U.S. Men’s Youth National Team U-14s at the age of 12 and continues to impress at the youth levels.
Sanchez, also a Miami-Dade born center back/defensive midfielder, stands out for his leadership, confidence and goal-oriented mentality seeing in top-level stars of the sport today. He brings the right mentality, drive and boldness the organization embodies.
The FORWARD25 jersey reveal was part of MLS’ 25th Season Celebration in 2020. The season will celebrate the League’s past, while expanding on the foundation it has built over an extensive period of explosive growth. The Celebration will feature unique experiences, marquee events, robust content, innovative programming, and the special 25th Season commemorative design integrated throughout MLS and partner initiatives – including the 2020 MLS jerseys.
In partnership with EA SPORTS FIFA, the adidas jerseys were also revealed virtually across EA SPORTS FIFA channels following the real-world unveiling. Fans can also represent their favorite MLS team currently playable in FIFA 20 and use the jerseys across various game modes, including Kick-Off, Career Mode, and more ahead of the start of the season. Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami will play all of its home matches at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale starting with the first-ever match on Saturday, March 14, against the LA Galaxy. Located off Commercial Boulevard and I-95, the stadium stands adjacent to the Club’s new 50,000 square foot state of the art training facility, which includes seven professional fields. The facility will be the home to all Inter Miami teams including MLS, USL League One and the Academy. It will also host international clubs, tournaments and local high school sporting events.
