- Inter Miami advanced to the Round of 32 after defeating Miami FC on penalties on the road in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday. The match saw striker Shanyder Borgelin tally his second goal since being promoted to the Club’s First Team, while defender Ryan Sailor scored his first professional goal.
- Tonight’s meeting with Columbus Crew will be the first of two between the sides in the 2023 MLS regular season. Overall, Inter Miami has faced the Columbus Crew four times in Club history, with the teams claiming two wins each. Last time Inter Miami took on the Crew was in September of 2022, with The Herons winning 2-1 at DRV PNK Stadium with two goals from former Inter Miami player Gonzalo HiguaÃn.
- Academy product Benjamin Cremaschi will be achieving another career milestone after registering his first start for the Club’s First Team midweek in the U.S. Open Cup, with the midfielder set to start for the first time in MLS tonight.
- Columbus Crew enters the matchup after defeating Indy Eleven in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday and falling 1-0 on the road to Charlotte FC in the team's last MLS fixture. Overall in the 2023 regular season, the Crew has collected 14 points from four wins, three losses and two draws, with midfielder Lucas Zelarayán leading the Ohio-based side with four goals and two assists.
