Following his Inter Miami debut last Saturday, Finnish international Robert Taylor, who was signed by the club last month, shared his excitement after experiencing the electric atmosphere at DRV PNK Stadium firsthand.

“[The atmosphere] was unbelievable, I loved it. From [the moment of] going up to warm up… it was crazy. I loved the fans and how they kept going all game,” said Taylor.

After being introduced into the weekend’s fixture as a second-half substitute and having a lively performance in which he was consistently involved in attack, head coach Phil Neville praised Taylor’s worth ethic and desire to be a part of Inter Miami’s exciting project.

“He’s an outstanding, talented player … Technically, he is phenomenal. We know we have a good player in our hands that’s going to be a fantastic addition to our creative side of our game, and I think that the connection he has with Gonzalo [Higuaín] in training is already sensational,” detailed Neville.

“When we were bidding for him, it was obviously a really hard negotiation with his club… he kept pushing, he kept calling, he kept messaging….I said to Chris [Henderson], ‘we have to find a way to get this boy to the football club, even if we can’t at the point in time.’ So, we went to put our money where our mouth was because of his attitude and his hunger to come here and succeed.”

The versatile attacker then went on to describe his style of play and what he brings to the First Team roster and how his period of adaptation is going to date.

“I like to be on the ball a lot and I like to get in those positions where I can take people on and try to create scoring positions,” Taylor explained. “I feel like I’ve adapted quite well to the system. Everything is so new to me and I’m so excited to be here. So, I think mentally I have no problem adjusting, I’m just really excited to get on the pitch everyday and get on with it basically.”

Lastly, Taylor previewed the matchup coming up over the weekend against Austin, showcasing his excitement to count with La Familia's support on the road as well.

“I’ve heard that some of the fans are traveling to Austin, that's massive for us and I’m so excited to see them also away,” he concluded.
