Over the past week, Inter Miami CF’s eMLS athlete IMCFDonBorrello represented the Club at eMLS League Series 2 presented by Coca Cola. Borrello capped off his second eMLS and LAN (local area network) event since signing for Inter Miami by placing second in the group stage on Saturday with an impressive performance and advancing to eMLS League Series Two broadcast which was live streamed on the MLS’s official Twitch and Twitter channels on Sunday afternoon.
Borrello first competed in remote qualifiers on Feb. 7 and 8 before traveling to New York City for the in-person phases of the competition on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12.
In the group stage, our Club’s eMLS athlete collected nine points from five matchups, including wins over Remi Martinn of Orlando and Godfather of the Columbus Crew. In his last matchup of the day, Borrello topped League Series 1 semifinalist, Alan Avi of FC Dallas, in a “win and get in” match with a convincing 4-0 scoreline. The crucial victory secured Borrello’s spot in his first ever eMLS Live Broadcast Event.
Borrello then fell to St. Louis’ NR7 in the League Series 2 Live Broadcast on Sunday before Atlanta United’s Paulo Neto was eventually crowned champion.
Next up IMCF_DonBorrello is set to compete in the FIFA Global Series 2 NA Qualifiers, which are set to take place this Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the action live on Borrello’s Twitch account.
