The current MLS and Premier League players will face off in FIFA 20 games at 1 p.m. ET on TUDN.com, the TUDN app, Inter Miami’s and Wolves’ platforms
MIAMI, Fla. (May 20, 2020) - Inter Miami CF continues its series of eFriendlies with a clash between top Mexican National Team teammates, as the Club’s Designated Player Rodolfo Pizarro faces Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.'s star striker Raúl Jiménez from the English Premier League on Saturday, May 23, at 1 p.m. ET.
Hosted by members of the TUDN and Inter Miami broadcast team, Ramses Sandoval and Luis Omar Tapia, the Club’s first international eFriendly featuring two EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 matchups will stream worldwide through TUDN.com, the TUDN app, the Inter Miami Twitch, Youtube and Facebook channels, on the Club’s official app, and Wolves’ social media channels.
Following the one-hour show, Pizarro’s signed game-worn RosaNegra jersey will be given away to an Inter Miami app member. To download the Club’s app, visit https://www.intermiamicf.com/en/club/app.
Pizarro and Jiménez have shared the pitch numerous times, including 12 appearances together with the National Team, conquering the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. The players also faced each other four times in the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 LigaMX seasons while playing for Pachuca and América, respectively.
Inter Miami’s No. 10 is no stranger to virtual competitions during the season’s pause due to COVID-19, as he participated in and won Inter Miami’s FIFA 20 tournament as part of Twitch’s Stream Aid 2020, a virtual event that raised over $2.7 million for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The midfielder also represented Mexico in the FIFA eNations Stay and Play Cup on April 24, defeating Peru’s and Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Yordi Reyna, 2-1.
Saturday’s contest will mark the Club’s third eFriendly since the gaming series debuted on May 9, when midfielder Lee Nguyen defeated former teammate, LAFC’s Mark-Athony Kaye, by a 10-7 aggregate scoreline. Inter Miami’s second eFriendly is set to air tonight, May 20, at 7 p.m. ET, between Inter Miami rookie and 2020 MLS SuperDraft first-overall pick Robbie Robinson and Nashville SC’s Tanner Dieterich, former Clemson University teammates.
Inter Miami’s Pizarro has enjoyed a successful career at only 26 years of age. After becoming the Club’s Designated Player and first No. 10 ahead of the Club’s inaugural 2020 MLS campaign, Pizarro scored the franchise’s historic first goal only 108 seconds into the team’s second match. Prior to arriving in South Florida, Pizarro won two Concacaf Champions Leagues, three LigaMX titles, and one Copa MX title. Internationally, he has made 25 appearances for the senior side, registering five goals and five assists.
Wolves have also been involved in various virtual competitions during the current pandemic, including winger Diogo Jota winning the ePremier League Invitational for the club.
Meanwhile, Wolves’ forward Jiménez is one of the Premier League’s and North America’s most deadly strikers, having registered 39 goals and 18 assists in 88 appearances across all competitions. On the international stage, Jiménez has recorded 23 goals and 12 assists in 81 appearances for the national team.
