Inter Miami CF returned to virtual competition this evening with the team’s third international matchup in its series of EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 eFriendlies. Inter Miami’s young Argentine forward Julián Carranza drew with an aggregate score of 5-5 against San Lorenzo’s own Argentine striker Franco Di Santo. The clash that kicked off at 6 p.m. ET was streamed via the Inter Miami Twitch, YouTube and Facebook channels and the Club’s official app, as well as San Lorenzo’s digital channels.

The eFriendly was hosted by Andres Cordero, Inter Miami’s experienced commentator and play-by-play announcer.
Inter Miami’s third international eFriendly began with a showdown between two Argentine first division sides, as Carranza led his former team Club Atlético Banfield against Di Santo’s San Lorenzo. The San Lorenzo forward scored one goal in each half to clinch a 0-2 victory.
Up next in the eFriendly was a matchup between national teams, with Carranza controlling France and Di Santo playing with Germany. Inter Miami’s young forward bagged two goals with Kyllian Mbappé in the 25th and 61st minutes before Di Santo scored late in the game with Leroy Sané in the 83rd minute.Carranza claimed the 2-1 victory and set up an exciting third match that would decide the ultimate result in the eFriendly.
The third and final match presented another battle between club teams, with Carranza on the sticks controlling FC Barcelona and Di Santo managing his former side Chelsea F.C. Carranza recorded a 3-2 win in what proved to be a tight contest, notching the winning goal in the 90th minute of the game with Lionel Messi. The result in the eFriendly’s final match saw Carranza claim victory in two out of three matches played, however, the overall result was a draw with an aggregate score of 5-5. Inter Miami remains unbeaten through the Club’s six eFriendlies to date.
With today’s result against Di Santo, Carranza extended his positive run in virtual competition after previously overcoming Everton F.C.’s Richarlison by an aggregate scoreline of 8-2 in an international eFriendly. Before that, he participated in Inter Miami’s FIFA 20 tournament as part of Twitch’s Steam Aid 2020, a virtual event that raised over $2.7 million for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
