Unbeaten Run of Four Across All Competitions

Inter Miami will aim to carry on with its good form and extend its current unbeaten streak in all competitions to five on Wednesday after a 2-0 over the New York Red Bulls at DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday, May 22. Goals by attackers Ariel Lassiter and Robert Taylor guided Inter Miami to victory. It was Lassiter’s first MLS goal for Inter Miami, while it was Taylor’s first goal for the club. Two midfielders also registered important season milestones in the match; Bryce Duke registered his first assist as an Inter Miami player for Lassiter’s goal, and Victor Ulloa set up Taylor to tally his first assist of 2022. Additionally, goalkeeper Drake Callender, who earned Heineken Man of the Match honors for his second consecutive match, registered his second consecutive MLS clean sheet.

Round One Against Orlando in 2022

Wednesday’s 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 fixture on the road will see Inter Miami and Orlando City meet for the first time in 2022. Overall, Inter Miami has faced Orlando seven times in the past, with a record of two wins, three losses and two draws.

In 2021, Inter Miami visited Exploria Stadium twice in MLS regular season action, drawing 1-1 on August 4 and 0-0 on August 27.

Being a single-elimination competition, if Inter Miami wins, it would advance to the next round, if it falls, it would knock the team out. If the team wins, it would move onto the Quarterfinals, where it would take on the winner of the match between USL Championship side Louisville City FC and Nashville SC on Tuesday, June 21 or Wednesday, June 22 at DRV PNK Stadium. The winner of the 2022 U.S. Open Cup earns an automatic spot in the next edition of the Concacaf Champions League, a shiny trophy to put on display and prize money.

Miami's Previous U.S. Open Cup Fixtures

Prior to that, Inter Miami topped Miami FC 0-1 at FIU Stadium in the Third Round on April 19 in what was the first U.S. Open game in club history.
