Previous Match
Inter Miami will continue its playoff push during the team’s midweek match after earning an important point at home in a 1-1 draw against New York City FC in its previous match. Notably, the draw featured a first MLS and Club goal for young Argentine defender and summer signing Tomás Avilés, who scored the late equalizer deep in added time.
First MLS Team of the Matchday Selection for Avilés
Avilés received Team of the Matchday honors for Matchday 35, earning TOTM honors for the first time since joining the Club in the summer. The young Argentine earned a spot in the TOTM starting XI after a heroic performance that saw him net a late equalizer in the fifth minute of added time against NYCFC.
Playoff Momentum
Inter Miami looks to build on its recent positive record and push for a spot in the postseason as The Herons have four crucial fixtures remaining this regular season, including its fixture against Eastern Conference opponent Chicago Fire. In all, Inter Miami has won four games, drawn three and lost one since the resumption of the 2023 MLS regular season on August 26.

Wednesday’s fixture will be the second and last between the two sides this 2023 regular season as Inter Miami looks to tie the two-game season series at one. The last time these two teams met, Inter Miami narrowly fell 2-3 at home earlier this season in late March.
