Building Momentum
Inter Miami will host CF Montréal after earning a record-breaking 5-0 win at home over rivals Orlando City SC to register the team’s largest margin of victory in Club history in MLS regular season action last weekend and earning a valuable 2-2 draw on the road against Nashville SC in the first leg of the Round of 16 in the Club's Concacaf Champions debut on Wednesday.
In all, the team has earned two wins and a draw thus far this 2024 regular season and sits atop the Eastern Conference standings with seven points, while remaining unbeaten in four matches across all competitions.
Career Milestones
The Club’s most recent signing, midfielder Federico Redondo, made his debut in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup series against Nashville SC as part of Inter Miami’s starting XI.
Versatile Inter Miami midfielder/defender Julian Gressel, meanwhile, is approaching an important milestone in his career. In his eighth MLS season, Gressel has totaled 69 career assists, tied for the fifth-most among active MLS players. With a helper against Montréal on Sunday, Gressel would become the fifth active player to reach 70 career assists
Previously Against CF Montréal
Inter Miami will aim to replicate the result from CF Montréal's last visit to South Florida, with the team earning a 2-0 win last time the sides met at Chase Stadium in February 2023.
Familiar Faces
Sunday's matchup may see three former Inter Miami players face their former team, as previous Club players midfielder Bryce Duke, winger Ariel Lassiter and forward Josef Martínez all now play for Montréal.
Scouting CF Montréal
Montréal will visit South Florida after collecting four points from a win and a draw in the team's first two 2024 MLS regular season fixtures. The Canadian-based side most recently earned a 1-2 win over FC Dallas on the road in the team's past regular season matchup.
