There are 14 new players that joined the First Team in the offseason: DeAndre Yedlin, Jean Mota, Christopher McVey, Damion Lowe, Emerson Rodríguez, Leonardo Campana, Robert Taylor, Mo Adams, Ariel Lassiter, Clément Diop, CJ dos Santos, Bryce Duke, Aime Mabika and Ryan Sailor.
The returning players for the club this season are Gonzalo Higuaín, Gregore, Nick Marsman, Victor Ulloa. Kieran Gibbs, Brek Shea and Joevin Jones.
Inter Miami enters the match following an intense preseason in which the team played seven total games, including:
- The club’s first-ever international friendly at DRV PNK Stadium in a 4-0 win over Peruvian side Club Universitario de Deportes
- Three closed-door matches against MLS opposition in South Florida
- A trip to Charleston, South Carolina, for the Breeze Airways Carolina Challenge Cup where the squad won the title
The Chicago Fire added Xherdan Shaqiri as a Designated Player and Kacper Przybylko. This will be the third time in Club history that the two teams meet on the pitch.
