Inter Miami CF First Team players underwent their medical examinations ahead of the 2023 preseason this weekend with the support of Baptist Health. The examinations marked the official start of preseason preparations at the Florida Blue Training Center.
“I’m really excited to be back, to see the guys that were away is awesome. We’re coming off a pretty good season last year, so we’re excited to build onto that. We did the medicals with the help of Baptist Health and got the rust off after the break. Now we have to continue building through preseason to be ready for the season. Everything we do from now to then is going to be very important,” said defender Aimé Mabika.
The team medicals were the first opportunity for offseason signing Jake LaCava to visit the state of the art Florida Blue Training Center.
“Walking into the facility, my first thoughts were that it is an unbelievable facility… The support from Baptist Health for medicals is huge and they are making sure that we are ready for preseason and get going,” stated the recently signed attacker.
Both players then highlighted the squad’s unity and expressed their excitement to get to work ahead of a thrilling fourth MLS season for the Club.
“It's similar to last year in terms of the culture we created, a togetherness as you saw with the meetings and medicals,” said Mabika. “You can tell we’re picking up right where we left off culture wise. On the field, we want to build onto what we did last season, we had a certain standard and goals last year and now we want to take it to another level as we continue to take the team where it belongs.”
“I feel great. I’m very excited to get started and show the fans what I can do. The vibe from the guys was very welcoming. It’s a good group and I look forward to working with them. I can’t wait to get out there and prove myself and I’m ready to fight and give it my all everyday for this club,” concluded LaCava.
