MIAMI, Fla. (June 9, 2020) - Inter Miami CF announced today that it has received approval from Major League Soccer (MLS) to begin full team training at Inter Miami CF Training Center this week. The sessions will be mandatory for all players as the Club takes the next step toward a return to match play under safety and health protocols set by MLS and infectious disease experts.
The training center and fields will be limited to players and essential staff only, who are required to undergo regular testing for COVID-19. For more information about MLS’s full team training protocol, click here.
Inter Miami’s return to full team training comes after weeks of increased activity at the Club’s training facilities since the league’s suspension on Thursday, Mach 12, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Players began voluntary individual training sessions on May 6 and voluntary small group training on June 4.
MLS’s return to match play plans are expected to be announced in the coming days as the league and the MLS Players Association completed a new collective bargaining agreement last Wednesday. The new CBA will run through 2025 and includes agreement on a plan to resume the 2020 season this summer.
