Felipe Valencia, an Inter Miami CF U-15 Academy player, has been called up to the U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team by head coach Gonzalo Segares for a week-long training camp. The training camp will run until March 8 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, California. The forward is one of 36 players invited to the camp.
Valencia, a 2005-born forward, has played in 13 U.S. Soccer Development Academy games for the Inter Miami CF Academy U-15 team, starting in each one. He has registered six goals in that time and helped guide the team to a record of 11 wins, one draw and two losses.
Valencia marks yet another national team call-up for the Inter Miami CF Academy. Two other Academy players – Logan Batiste and Kobi Henry – were recently called up to the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team for the UEFA Development Tournament in February.
The Inter Miami Academy is comprised of 160 youth players from South Florida, playing across six age groups from 12 to 19. The Academy is fully funded by the organization and aims to recruit and develop talented players, providing them with the best opportunities to continue advancing to the highest levels of the sport.
