Over the weekend, Inter Miami’s eMLS athlete IMCF_DonBorrello completed his first major event with the Club, representing it at eMLS League Series 1. This marked Borrello’s first eMLS event since signing for Inter Miami and first-ever LAN (local area network) event.
Borrello first competed in remote qualifiers before traveling to New York City for the in-person group stage on Saturday at OS NYC.
Notably, Borello reached a pair of milestone moments in his career, first claiming a resounding 5-1 win over Columbus Crew’s Godfather during the remote qualifiers for his first victory at a major event for the Club. He then pulled off a 3-2 comeback win over FC Cincy’s Cissé to earn his first victory in a LAN competition to cap off his participation in the event.
Paulo Neto of Atlanta United was eventually crowned champion, making LS1 his second straight eMLS victory after previously winning the eMLS Cup 2022.
The rookie signed with Inter Miami as the organization’s second-ever eMLS athlete. In FIFA 22, he was ranked among the top 30 players in North America, and finished in first place in the FIFA 21 2021 Canada eNational Tournament.
