Luis Argudo was the fourth player selected by Inter Miami CF in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft. The 23-year-old midfielder was selected from Columbus Crew SC where he played for two years.
Argudo is a young attacking midfielder who can control the game with the ball at his feet. He also tracks back diligently and protects the backline with his defensive contributions. This versatility has allowed him to play both centrally and out wide.
The 5-foot-9 midfielder was drafted by the Columbus Crew in the 2018 SuperDraft. In two seasons with the team he appeared in 39 regular season games, making 16 starts and registering one goal and three assists.
Prior to his time in Columbus, he played NCAA Division I soccer for Elon University and Wake Forest University. In two seasons at Elon he made 39 appearances, tallying one goal and three assists. He transferred to Wake Forest for his junior season, making 48 appearances and recording nine goals and 10 assists. He was named to the 2017 All-South Region team for his senior season.
