Inter Miami CF defender Aimé Mabika has been called up to the Zambian National team for its upcoming camp and international friendly match.
Mabika will join his national team for the first time ever this week and will be a part of the Chipolopolo’s roster when the team faces Guinea in a friendly match in Paris, France on Tuesday, March 29.
The 23-year-old earned his first outing with the national team following a standout 2021 with Inter Miami CF II, being a starter in all 14 matches he played and serving regularly as the team’s captain. The center back also earned two call ups to the First Team last season prior to signing with Inter Miami on Jan. 13, 2022 and becoming another product of the club’s development path to make the jump to MLS.
Before being selected by the club in the first round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, Mabika made 62 appearances for the University of Kentucky, scoring 10 goals and contributing to 28 shutouts during his tenure.
